1. How do I open an account?
It's easy to open a new account at MF Global Inc. Just click on the "Open Account" link on the menu. Download the appropriate forms for your new account. Print the application, sign and mail it with your initial funding (please call a MF Global Inc. representative to discuss initial account funding) to the address below. If you are unable to print them, we will mail the forms to you.

2. How do I know when my account is ready for trading?
Your account will generally be processed within 1-2 business days from receipt, assuming everything is filled out correctly. As soon as the paperwork is in, a new account representative will call and answer any questions you may have. You will be able to trade when your initial funding has cleared. Wires, cashiers checks, and money orders clear as soon as they are received. Personal checks take 2-3 business days to clear.
3. What is the minimum amount required to open a new account?

4. Can I transfer my account / securities from another brokerage firm?
It's easy to transfer an existing account to MF Global Inc. If you don't have an account at MF Global Inc., open a new account and specify that you want to transfer an account from another brokerage firm. You may transfer securities to your MF Global Inc. account by completing an account transfer form or ACAT, which may be downloaded from our document center. Attach a copy of your last monthly statement and send it to MF Global Inc. A firm to firm transfer takes between 7 and 10 business days once we have been notified. 5. What types of accounts does MF Global Inc. offer?
MF Global Inc. offers the following account types. Any of these accounts may be eligible for an option agreement, and all except "Custodial" may be eligible for a margin account.

6. Who is MF Global Inc. clearing firm?
MF Global Inc. is a self-clearing broker dealer; MF Global is a futures commission merchant and clearing member of all principle futures exchanges.
7. Does MF Global Inc. offer accounts to persons outside the United States?
Yes. Although MF Global Inc. does not actively solicit non-U.S. business, such persons may contact a customer service representative at 312.528.3315 or 888.281.9569 for details on how to open a foreign account.
8. Is there any account protection?
Securities accounts are protected up to $500,000 against firm failure, but not trading losses. MF Global Inc. is a member of the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC), which protects customer securities of its members up to $500,000 (including up to $100,000 for cash claims).
